Discover Technical Diving

This short experience is designed to introduce divers to basic technical diving skills and procedures in a confined water setting.

Tec Basics

PADI Tec 40

The PADI Tec 40 course is your first step into technical diving. It is a basic level of decompression diving that will allow you to dive with redundancy of gases, higher mixes of Enriched Air of up to 50%, decompression on EANX 50% for conservatism and up to 10 minutes of decompression. With the Tec 40 certification under your belt, you will certified to make limited decompression dives to 40 meters/130 feet. Tec 40 is a prerequisite to Tec 45.

PADI Tec 45

The PADI Tec 45 course extends your depth limit to 45 metres/150 feet. You will learn to plan and execute single and repetitive decompression dives using a single decompression cylinder with up to 100 percent oxygen. You will use double cylinders, which can be either back mount or sidemount diving configuration. Tec 45 is a prerequisite to Tec 50.

PADI Tec 50

The PADI Tec 50 diver, you’ll have the knowledge and skills to make extended range dives to a maximum of 50 metres/165 feet. You’ll know how to make dives with multiple decompression stops using two decompression gases. It's not easy to reach this level. Earning your Tec 50 certification opens the door to deeper diving expeditions.

PADI Tec Sidemount

Wearing more than one tank has become increasingly popular for technical diving. With the Tec Sidemount Diver course you can apply what you learn to other TecRec courses.

If you've looked into technical diving, you realize that tec divers always wear more than one tank. Sidemount is an increasingly popular way to configure multiple cylinders for technical diving. You can enter the world of tec diving with the Tec Sidemount Diver course and apply what you learn to other TecRec courses. Your instructor may offer to integrate this course with the Tec 40, Tec 45 or Tec 50 courses.
